Message from Marton Country Music Festival Inc, 2010
Secretary, Anne George
Hello Country Music Lovers,
Once again we welcome you to the Marton Country Music Festival, Wilson Park, Marton on the 15/16/17 January 2010.
This festival is truly an international line up of stars, with United Kingdom, Australia, USA and Germany being represented by some fantastic artists, alongside some of New Zealand's best.
For early arrivals to the festival there will be a 'meet and greet' jam session on the Thursday evening, to which everyone is welcome. The venue has yet to be confirmed, but we will let you know when you arrive.
It is envisaged that the free bus will be available to take people in to town from the park. This is to be confirmed but very likely to happen.
Because of damage done to the park at the 2009 festival (NOT our fault!) the council charged us. So to help cover this happening again we have had to charge for parking for the 2010 festival. With $5 per vehicle, for the weekend, I hope this doesn't upset anyone.
As usual dogs are banned from the music arena, and if you see anyone with a dog, you are quite entitled to ask them to take their dog out.
In the past we have had a few problems with kids behaving in appropriately. If you see anything untoward bring them to the Registration tent. Or you can deal with it yourself. We are all there to have a great time, and we don't need these rascals spoiling anything.
Finally don't forget to bring something warm to wrap up in during the evening shows, as it can get a bit chilly and you won't want to miss the evening shows when the Stars come out!
The festival committee is looking forward to seeing you in Marton, January 2010.
Marton is the place to be!
Anne George, Secretary, Marton Country Music Festival Inc.
