HILLCREST
Promoting her music world wide, again releasing with the Canadian multi-artist disc Hillcrest 49 will get Ann's track on the album "Broken Hearts Will Slowly Mend" around to many overseas country radio stations. Playlists including her track are already coming in. 'Taking care of business', and replying to all these DJs is what keeps Ann's name "out there".
CAMBRIDGE VISIT
July the 11th, she was on the road to Cambridge, where she had been invited to attend the Friendly Cambridge Country Music Club as their 'Guest Artist'. www.simplesite.com/camfriendcountrymusic
It takes about three hours to drive to Cambridge, from Taranaki, and support crew Frank and Jocelyn went with Ann and Ross. And OLDOGS members and wives also were there too. Charlie Winter played keyboard with the Cambridge band. Mark and Kevin got to sing with the band - without hiding behind a guitar!
Ann really enjoyed herself and thought the band did so well with the songs she sang - some covers and some orignals. They had obviously put in a lot of time to study the reference music she had previously sent to them.
Willie Barrett, the lead guitarist, had really worked hard and she was thrilled by the way he had the intros and middle bits down pat from the albums!
Thank you to Alan Sayers (ex Taranaki) President Peter Whelan (ex Taranaki) for making the arrangements for Ann's visit!
THE WAITING!
The next thing is the waiting until Finals night at the Awards!!! Denise and I are really looking forward to a weekend away at Hamilton and it will be great to meet up with Ann, Ross, Frank and Jocelyn again. Also to meet up with Dennis and Yvonne Marsh too. ROLL ON THE 15th August 2009!
Well, that is all I have for now, hopefully there will be more good news to report in the next newsletter. Take care y'all. Be happy and keep on keeping on that COUNTRY MUSIC.

Ann Pascoe & OLDOGS
The OLDOGS band got its name from an album of the same name 'Old Dogs' put out by Jennings, Bare, Tillis and Reed.
Their songs vary from comical to serious, and deal mainly with growing old and realizing that the music industry has moved on.
Looking for a name for the band some two years ago, and having been listening to the Old Dogs album it seemed a natural progression to become OLDOGS - the stylised version.
All talented musicians in other bands, lead guitarist Kevin Joyce, drummer Noddy Curd, Charlie Winter, keyboard, and bass player Mark Corbett back Ann in their foray into country music festivals.
"A tight group" as in the musical way! And "refreshing" have been comments on Ann and the band's performances when they perform material from Ann's albums, do some country rock and clown around with some Old Dogs songs!!

Hailing from New Zealand, Ann Pascoe is a true Country Lady! Periodically someone has a "God given" message (in music, in poetry, in art etc) they just HAVE TO SHARE!!! This artist (I view) has one of those messages through the combination of her beautiful vocals with the lyrics of the songs she elects to sing!..... The fact is that when we, the receiving audience, has it DELIVERED to us, it awakens our testament to FAITH, LOVE, HOPE. "Where Words Fail...Music Speaks" and Ann's music proves that without a doubt.

Hello to you all, here we are again, right in the middle of rotten weather, frosts, snow, gales and all, but, still we survive, we are Kiwi.
KIWI PROAM AWARDS
The BIG EXCITEMENT is Ann being nominated for the Kiwi ProAm '2009 National Country Music Awards', in the 'FEMALE ARTIST OF THE YEAR' section.
Five very talented artists became nominees and it is very pleasing Ann has made it to the FINAL THREE!! We thank all those who voted for her, it is much appreciated.
The 2009 Female Artist Of The Year will be chosen on the night of the 15th of August in the Founders Theatre in Hamilton, when there is a concert with a great line up of artists as a precursor to the announcing of the winners in all sections. Check out www.kiwiproamcountrymusic.co.nz
KEEPING BUSY
Keeping up with the happenings for Ann over the last couple of months - as usual, she is kept busy being the entertainment at meetings and the like, and she has her regular Rest Home entertainment invites.
She is very popular with the residents who are always asking when she will be returning which she finds really touching, and satisfying to be pleasing them..
Ann says they love the pop and country songs from the 50s,60s like "Sugar Time" and "Just Walking in the Rain" and of course, her own compositions. "Grandma's Apron" and "This Saddle" go down really well with the oldies.
MUSIC DIRECT
Subscribing to Music Direct, the music section of Doubleday, Ann was excited to find her album "I'm Doing Fine" on the Home Grown leaflet that arrives with the music catalogue.
There is a nice write up..."Pascoe's fourth album is a lovely collection of self-penned tunes, covers and two duets with Dennis Marsh. Real country, NZ style..."
"There I am, my album lined up with Dennis Marsh, John Rowles, Hammond Gamble and David Hobson & Teddy Tahu Rhodes on the same page!" Ann tells me excitedly!

ANN PASCOE NEWSLETTER
NOVEMBER 2009
It's that time again - almost! Christmas time and another New Year coming up - fast! So we'll take this time to wish you Happy Christmas, and a safe and Happy New Year!
MAKING VIDEOS
Though keeping busy with home, gardens, entertaining, singing at clubs, and doing the TLC Radio work, Ann found time to make two song videos.
With the help of Mark Bellringer at Digitalstory from New Plymouth, Ann got dressed up to do the filming at the Taranaki Pioneer Village in Stratford. Luckily, the day turned out to be a fine one, in the midst of days of rain and wind.
It probably is daunting for most people to see themselves in the movies, so Ann was a bit hard on herself for her first try, being the perfectionist she is.
But her first try is an excellent effort. As reports say that music DVDs will take the place of audio CDs, it has been suggested this could be the start of a collection of her songs to make up a full DVD in the near future. So something for fans to look forward to.
The song videos can be seen on YouTube and on www.annpascoe.com and are getting plenty of attention. And if you wish to have the videos on a disc, then you may order some at $10 each.
Still on the video theme, on November 6th, Ann and Ross travelled to Pahiatua to visit Tararua Television, and Ann was once again singing in front of the video cameras for TTV to make a country music show.
Chrissie Staples at the television channel is keen to make NZ country music shows.
RADIO
While Ann didn't hear it herself, she got a lot of feedback from people who heard her on the Jim Sutton Show ZB Newstalk one Saturday night. "I was meeting people in the street who would say, we heard you on the radio the other night." The Jim Sutton Show has a great coverage and it's great having Ann being part of this.
OVERSEAS RADIO
Being on the overseas playlist isn't new for Ann, but it's still satisfying that she is being played on country radio all around the world. The recent feedback from Australia, and Irish country has been really good.
SELF PROMOTION
While it's a hard thing for most artists to do, self promotion is a must and a really 'nice" story came out of Ann's effort. She read about the Nice Hotel restaurant in New Plymouth playing music for diners, and thought perhaps her music may be suitable, so sent off one of her albums.
Turns out many of her tracks have been added to the restaurant's music system for inclusion.
But the really NICE thing to come out of it was that some Americans, from Tennesee dining at the restaurant wanted to know who the singer was, and left with Ann's album!
GETTING BUSY
In January, Ann and OLDOGS get busy. They have a gig at the New Plymouth Festival of Lights on Thursday 14th January 2010 on the Hatchery Lawn at 7pm. Their guest this year is Allan Webster from Australia. Allan is no stranger to NZ and will also be at the Marton Country Music Festival on the 16/17th January.
Ann, Allan and OLDOGS will do a show at the New Plymouth Club on Friday 15th January, then travel down to Marton for the festival there. OLDOGS are a "resident" band for the festival. And Joe Martin on steel joins Ann & OLDOGS for these outings.
The invitations for the Bay of Islands Country Rock festival are out.
HERMANN LAMMERS MEYER
Also at Marton this year is Europe's King of Country, Hermann Lammers Meyer. Hermann will also be at the New Plymouth Festival of Lights on Monday 18th January, followed by Auckland's Trevor Stevens. Hatchery Lawn, 7pm.
Hermann arrives in NZ on the 7th January, and it is hoped he can find some gigs to do around NZ, and Ann will also accompany him when she can on these shows. He leaves for home on the 27th January.
Well, that is all I have for now, hopefully there will be more good news to report in the next newsletter. Take care y'all. Be happy and keep on keeping on that COUNTRY MUSIC.
