"Over the years that followed I played in Rock and Roll bands, Country bands and Solo. I travelled from Whangarei to Arrowtown playing music in New Zealand, I sang at the Tamworth Country Music Festival in Australia and even got to sing in Nashville Tennessee, thanks to great friends Sally & Brian Burgess. I have played rodeos, birthdays, festivals, weddings, anniversaries you name it, I have played it. In short I have had a ball playing country music and have no plans to stop."

"My earliest recollections of music of any description are probably of my Mum and Dad singing old traditional country songs, while Dad played thumb style on a battered old guitar. I had a fascination for his large collection of 78rpm records and was often found on my own, loading them on to our old stack-up gramophone, playing the songs of Wilf Carter, Tex Morton and Buddy Williams, over and over.
I was really taken with the ‘one voice – one guitar’ cowboy style and at a really early age just knew I had to master the art of yodeling."
It was only in the last few years after listening to lyrics of Merle Haggard, the Statler Brothers, and Hoyt Axton, and always having been a writer; and also a poet (of simple verse) that it seemed a natural progression to write country song lyrics.
“I started writing songs and wanted someone to sing them, but nobody seemed keen. I thought I should do them myself,” she says. She took singing lessons and learned the basics of singing, then stylised to country music. Ann has five country music albums to her credit.
With her band OLDOGS she sings at festivals and venues around New Zealand.

Charley Groth grew up in rural surroundings, in a family environment and economic circumstances that taught him to work hard and enjoy it immensely. His mother used to say he was the busiest child she'd ever known, and he has continued to live a full and busy life. Charley's exposure to and acceptance of a very wide range of musical styles began in those early days. Here he is seen (and this really is Charley) hard at it on the farm, carrying milking buckets. The "music man" may not have quite as much energy as he had when this picture was taken--but Charley loves to play and lives to play his music. He is a genial man, keeps a positive attitude, and is always ready to see how a project can be done and not why it cannot be done. He's creative, resourceful, adaptable, and organized. If you have a project in mind, don't hesitate to contact Charley. He will always be interested in talking about how something might be accomplished. There is nowhere in the world he will not consider travelling for music, and he is ever ready to consider all sorts of ways to make the trips possible.

Allan Webster was born in Wallasey, England, and began his musical education on violin and graduated to guitar, playing in his first band at the age of 14. He played the music of the era with a typical Mersey sound, playing at the same venues, namely the Cavern, in Liverpool, as the Beatles, Gerry and the Pacemakers, and the Searchers. Allan emigrated to Australia in 1964, with his parents and 9 siblings.
Soon after his arrival he was once again playing in a band, named the “Road Runners”, which were highly influenced by the Mersey Sound also. They were a successful group for many years, eventually breaking away to form other bands, with usually two of the same members being in the band.
Allan has played in many bands over the years, but the last few years have been dedicated to Country Music. Rather a strange beginning for a country music artist.

In 2008 New Zealand country music legend Dusty Spittle was inducted into America s National Traditional Country Music Association Hall of Fame. In the same year he also won best international CD award in America.
Dusty became interested in country music after seeing the famed Tex Morton perform in 1948. During a visit to Tasmania, Dusty met other guitarists, and started writing songs. He adopted the name Dusty when he broadcast from a Tasmanian radio station, using the name of a favourite flower, the Dusty Miller.
In 1968 Dusty started recording for Viking, a label where many New Zealand country singers recorded. Later he joined the roster of artists on the Kiwi Pacific label, and later still independently produced his own CDs.
After performing throughout Australia in the late 1960s, Dusty toured again in Australia with Rick & Thel Careys Travelling Show before joining the Buddy Williams Troupe, which covered the country, going as far north as Thursday Island. During this period his songs were recorded by several well known Australian Country singers, including Buddy Williams, Shirley Thoms, Gordon Parsons, and Johnny Greenwood. Dusty was awarded several song writing trophies, including the only Barcoo Bush Ballad Award to leave Australia.
In 1992 ill health put Dusty out of circulation for a while, but he s back on his feet and back on the road again today. He has Five CDs in current release and is appearing in venues in New Zealand, Australia, and in the USA.
